Basically, what I am seeing is that CPU and memory are NOT maxing out, and yet still the freeze in Garageband.ģ.

Since installing Windows 10 I'm having issues with Dropbox and 100 disk usage too. The Activity Monitor tells me that I still have memory to spare (highest I've seen is 2.9GB memory used, and Garageband shows around 1GB of that), and that Garageband is only using around 40% CPU at it's max (15% when not recording or playing back). Quick answer disk drives are MUCh slower then the cables used to connect them. This happens even with a basic, unaltered, raw project of 5-6 tracks.Ģ.
This has started happening recently, and even when I turn off everything including plugins and EQs. I have run far more complicated projects (more tracks, more plugins, everything) on earlier versions of Garageband (and maybe even this version) on this same machine with no problems.
